In Memory of Our Great Friend
In late fall of 2008, our Secretary and great friend, J. Mark Daniels died unexpectedly. With his loss, we have not only lost a member but a great friend, husband, father and grandfather. Mark was one of our shining and smiling faces within the organization and the community and he brought his smile with him everywhere he went. A great joke teller, he shared his list of them with all of us whenever he got a chance, an
d they were never the same jokes. He loved his family, friends, and his grandchildren immensely and it showed in everything he did. An avid fan of competitive swimming, Mark was a certified AAU swim referee and spent a great deal of his time around children, teens and adults at many swimming pools throughout the midwest. He spent countless hours with his grandsons, Ben and Evan, and never tired being a part of their lives. We shall miss Mark as our Secretary and, of course, as our resident cook during all of our events. It was a big part of Mark to make sure that no one ever walked away without a full plate in their hands. He was a ray of sunshine for us all and to the many children he met daily. His presence will always be with us as members of the St. Clair Children's Recreation Committee.
