The Children's Recreation Committee of St. Clair,Michigan is one of the hosts of St. Clair River Fest each summer in St. Clair. It is a long standing event held each year in the city of St. Clair, Michigan. Situated on the St. Clair River directly across from Ontario, Canada and located 45 miles northeast of Detroit, St. Clair is one of the earliest settled towns in the history of the state of Michigan.
The Children's Recreation Committee (CRC) has been a major part of St. Clair since 1955. The originators of the St. Clair Water Carnival, the CRC become the recreation outlet for kids of all ages in St. Clair. With the lack of recreation departments and activities, the CRC went to work.
Their hard work and persistence helped to develop many programs for children in St. Clair, some of which are still in existence. CRC was instrumental in bringing the Gold Cup of Hydroplane Racing to the St. Clair River in the late 1950s and early 60s. This event is known world wide today with the Gold Cup race now being held in Detroit, Michigan each summer.

The St. Clair Water Carnival quickly became the major fund raiser for CRC complete with a parade, carnival, boat races, kids activities, and fireworks.
The support of CRC helped to develop Camp Otsiketa (Boy and Girl Scout camp), annual Halloween party, the building of the Community Pool and a host of other events. The lack of funding and the development of city recreation departments added to the slow demise of the CRC in the mid-1970s. Today, the CRC has been resurrected by sons of the original members of the CRC. CRC has been involved in projects with the city of St. Clair and active in assisting the City of St. Clair Recreation Department. CRC's other activities include:
* Hosted the annual St. Clair Water Carnival for three years (now one of the major sponsors of St. Clair River Fest)
* We Provide Movies and Music in the Park each summer and during school semester breaks.
* Involved in assisting financial support to students and other non-profit organizations.
* Raised over $27,000 since the beginning of the new CRC in 2003.
* Provided over $18,000 to children's programs in St. Clair.
* Have now joined with the Blue Water Offshore Racing Association and Fun Fest Productions to host St. Clair River Fest.
* Assist the City of St. Clair Recreation Department with programs, funding and other support throughout the year.
